About the network

The Women in Forests and Timber Network QLD (WFTN) is a forum for women in our industry to meet, exchange ideas and ensure our voices are heard.

We aim to recognise the contributions of the women in our industry, to celebrate their achievements and to support their access to skills and professional development opportunities.

The WFTN Queensland Chapter have a proud history of hosting successful professional industry events where both women and men can network, form working relationships and socialise outside of their organisations.

WFTN host quarterly breakfasts and our Chapter also has a strong focus on community outreach through our fundraising efforts and charity events. We have in the past worked with organisations such as Brisbane Domestic Violence Service and Micah Projects, Destiny Rescue and Friends with Dignity to assist through donations women who are disadvantaged or exploited. Each year we work with a chosen charity to support their cause through fundraising and awareness activities.

Our Mission

WFTN QLD is a community to share, support and advocate for and empower women from all accross Queensland within the forest and timber industry. To connect, educate and inspire all women to reach their goals while working collectively, to guide, mentor and build confidence. To recognise that voice and presence is powerful.

Our Vision

Supporting the needs of women by promoting a diverse and inclusive forest and timber industry.
