NTHA partnered with Cyber Wardens to offer free cyber security training to members

In an exciting new partnership, the National Timber & Hardware Association (NTHA) has joined forces with the Council of Small Business Organisations Australia (COSBOA) to provide NTHA members with access to the Cyber Wardens program. This free and simple cyber security training initiative is designed to help protect businesses like yours in the timber and hardware sector from the growing threat of cyber crime.

Cyber threats to timber and hardware businesses

Cyber crime is on the rise, and small businesses are increasingly becoming targets. With cyber attacks reported every six minutes in Australia, the average cost to a small business owner is around $46,000 per incident. The risks include data breaches, financial loss, and severe reputational damage. Additionally, businesses often experience a significant drop in customer trust and spend valuable time recovering from attacks.

Cyber criminals often exploit common vulnerabilities such as outdated software, weak passwords, and human error. The impact of these attacks can be devastating, leading to lost revenue, operational downtime, and legal complications. Recognising these risks, NTHA is committed to equipping its members with the tools and knowledge they need to safeguard their businesses.

The Cyber Wardens program

The Cyber Wardens program is an innovative cyber security education online course developed by COSBOA and backed by the Australian Government in collaboration with industry leaders Telstra, CommBank, and the Australian Cyber Security Centre.
