NTHA Training provides government-funded programs in Queensland, New Sales Wales, and South Australia.  Where a course is not funded in these States or where training is required in other States,  we can provide you with a full qualification price.

Funding arrangements are outlined below.  Please contact us to discuss your training needs and we can review with you your likely eligibility for funding and any concessions which may apply.

FUNDED COURSES

Funding is provided by each State Government to enable students access to subsidised training and is generally targeted at those qualifications where there is a skills shortage or where developing those skills would be advantageous to the economy. There are two elements to a qualification being funded by the Government:

  1. NTHA Training must have the qualification on its scope and must have formally applied for the funding available for the course
  2. A student must be eligible for the funding. Eligibility criteria can be different in each State and the requirements may include but are not limited to:
  • The student must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • The student must live or work in the State which is providing the funding
  • The student must be 15 years or older and not in full-time education.

QUEENSLAND

NTHA Training is an approved Skills Assured Supplier (SAS), delivering nationally recognised training subsidised by the Queensland Government through the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training (DTET) under Career Start and Career Boost Funding Programs.

CAREER START PROGRAM

Career Start supports Queensland job seekers to start their career or move into more skilled roles or full-time employment.

You can participate in either a general training pathway, or an employment-based apprenticeship or traineeship pathway.

You'll receive reduced-cost entry-level training aligned to the skill outcomes required by industry. Career Start provides eligible Queenslanders with:

  • access to certificate III qualifications in priority and emerging industries
  • access to apprenticeship and traineeship training in priority and emerging industries
  • access to lower-level qualifications identified by industry as the entry point for jobs
  • expanded access to foundation skills such as language, literacy, numeracy, digital literacy and employability skills
  • increased access to training in regional and remote areas
  • supported training pathways for women and priority cohorts to take up skilled careers.

Career Start offers either a General Training Pathway or employment-based Apprenticeship or Traineeship Pathway. Eligibility criteria apply to both pathways.

 Apprenticeship/Traineeship Pathway

For apprenticeships and traineeships, an individual must be employed as an apprentice or trainee. This pathway is part of the Australian Apprenticeships system and requires all parties to sign an Apprenticeship and Traineeship Training Contract (the Contract) as defined by the Further Education and Training Act 2014 (the Act).

For further information on Apprenticeships and Traineeships Pathway, please visit: Apprenticeships and Traineeships

General Training Pathway

Qualifications and introductory skill sets delivered through a general training pathway are available for direct enrolment and do not require the student to enter into a training contract (apprenticeship/traineeship) with an employer.

For further information on Career Start Funding including Eligibility Criteria, please refer to Career Start Program Policy or visit: CAREER START

CAREER BOOST PROGRAM

Career Boost helps Queenslanders to level-up at work, enabling them to grow and apply their skills to existing or new roles, and support productivity growth and workplace innovation.

The program delivers training to help individuals develop the higher-level skills needed to secure employment, advance their careers, or progress to further education and training to undertake university or tertiary qualifications.

Career Boost offers either a general training pathway or employment-based apprenticeship or traineeship pathway.

Under Career Boost, an eligible individual may access:

  • one subsidised training place in either a certificate IV, diploma, or advanced diploma qualification under the general training pathway; OR
  • a higher-level apprenticeship/traineeship at certificate IV or above; and
  • up to two subsidised skill sets in priority industries or sectors as part of the program.

Qualifications and skill sets delivered through a general training pathway are available for direct enrolment and do not require the student to enter into a training (apprenticeship/traineeship) contract with an employer.

For further information on Career Boost Funding including Eligibility Criteria, please refer to Career Boost Program Policy or visit: CAREER BOOST

♦ If the individual has already accessed two apprenticeships/traineeships through a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship (SAT) or Career Start within the last 10 years, they are not eligible to undertake an apprenticeship/traineeship under Career Boost.

♦ An individual cannot do two General Pathway qualifications under Career Start or Career Boost. This is to ensure equitable access for all eligible Queenslanders to a training opportunity.

♦ Students may receive a survey from DTET seeking information on their training experience.

Delivery Locations:  Brisbane, Cairns, Central Queensland, Darling Downs, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Logan - Beaudesert, Mackay, Moreton Bay - North and South, Queensland - Outback, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Townsville and Wide Bay.
